BOATING

Broken Bow Lake is tucked away in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains and covers 14,000 acres. It has 180 miles of lush tree covered natural shoreline, which is perfect for boating, fishing, swimming and water sports.  It is the perfect depth for smallmouth bass fishing and the small islands on the lake make for fun stops on canoe or boat.  The forested terrain surrounding Broken Bow Lake is a haven for hikers and nature lovers.

Beavers Bend Marina is a full service marina offering a full range of jet ski and boat rentals to spend a day on the lake with family and friends, a convenience store, marine fuel service and boat slip rentals.

HIKING

Beavers Bend State Park is an ideal place to spend the day hiking through, bird watching, and enjoying nature in Ouachita National Forest.  There are many hiking trails ranging from 12 mile challenging hikes to short nature trails throughout the park.  Plan a picnic in the towering woods with a packed lunch or grab some food to-go from Rolling Fork Takery to have a picnic at several sites in the park.  There are gorgeous views of Mountain Fork River to take in from the trails or see some wildlife, like eagles, deer, turkey, many species of birds and other animals during your hikes.  These parks have wonderful hiking amongst towering pines, rivers and vistas, whether you choose Skyline Trail, an 11.6-mile challenging hike winding through waterfalls and mountain peaks, to the Lookout Mountain, a 1.9 mile easy trail with incredible views, or hike up and down the Lower Mountain Fork River, you are sure to find the trail that suits you best.  The area is known for long fall color season from late October and early November where the forest begins to transform from lush green to brilliant shades of gold and bright crimson.  There is so much nature to see in Broken Bow, you won’t be disappointed.

Love great craft beer? Visit the Beavers Bend Brewery or Mountain Fork Brewery, which both have revolving taps of fresh craft beer, including IPAs, Brown Ales, Pale Ales & seasonal brews made on-site. Come hang out with us and enjoy a tasting flight, a full pour and grab some beer to go! Hochatown Distilling Company just opened it’s doors to the tasting room where you can also schedule a distillery tour.
